Carl Knudsen died of pneumonia at Port Royal, Va., at 7 a.m. Friday, according to work received by his brother in Blair on Friday afternoon. Mr. Knudsen was born and raised on a farm about two miles west of Herman and joined the Navy early last fall. His brother, Emil, has been working for Ray Beckley for the past two years. The remains were shipped to Clear Lake, Minnesota, where his parents moved about two years ago, for burial
