Carl H. Brokaw, 91, of Arlington died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at his home.

Visitation was held Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10. Services were held on June 10 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Lynn Martin of the Arlington Community Church officiated. Interment was at Prospect View Cemetery at Pierce.

Carl H. Brokaw was born December 28, 1908 in Plainview to O.D. and Emma (Schlote) Brokaw.

He grew up in the Plainview area. He farmed at Center until moving to Verdell, where he worked for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

In 1949, he moved to Beemer, then lived at Stanton and Nickerson, where he worked for many farmers for many years. He later farmed for Ray Harmon Farms at Fontanelle for 23 years.

On March 19, 1949, he married Dorothy Sexton in Stanton.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Winnie Brokaw of Arlington; and Dennis and Shirley Brokaw of San Diego, Calif; two sons, Melvin Brokaw Sr. of Norfolk and Eldean Brokaw; two daughters and sons-in-law, Verletta (Mrs. Duane) Petersen of Plainview and Shirley and Lyle Ronk of Pilger; step-daughter Lenice Carr of Fremont; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and an infant daughter, Fern.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
