…diately canceled rescue units en route. The man, identified as Jonathan Hamilton, 22, had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, Robinson said. It appeared he had been there for several hours.
Residents living in the area reported finding Hamilton. His vehicle was located nearby and a weapon was found at the scene.
Robinson said his office is not actively looking for suspects, but he expects to have a better understanding of what happened pending an autopsy scheduled Thursday afternoon.
“All options are open at this point,” Robinson said. “We can’t rule anything out.”
Deputies are trying to determine if Hamilton was familiar with the area and who may have seen him last.
The death remains under investigation.

BENNINGTON MAN’S DEATH RULED SUICIDE

The death of a Bennington man whose body was found Sept. 21 on a Washington County road bridge has been ruled a suicide.
Sheriff Mike Robinson said Jonathan Hamilton, 22, suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. His body was found in the 8000 block of County Road 37—a minimum maintenance road south of Blair.
Robinson said it appeared Hamilton had been there for several hours. Hamilton was last seen two days before his body was found. Residents living in the area reported finding Hamilton. His vehicle was located nearby and a weapon was found at the scene.
