FORMER BLAIR RESIDENT IS KILLED
Albert Bruse, a former Blair resident, born and raised in the Cuming City area, was one of three slain in Missouri Friday.
Killed were Mr. Bruse, his wife and their daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Johnson, 40. Mrs. Johnson was stabbed to death in an insurance office in Clayton, Mo., where she worked. Two fellow workers reported to police that they saw Johnson strike his wife several times with a hunting knife. The Johnsons had been separated for several weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruse were found dead in their home at Webster Grove, Mo. The Johnsons' daughter, Linda, 3, told police "daddy shot grandpa and granny."
Mr. Bruse is survived by a brother, George Bruse, of Sibley, Ia., and a sister, Mrs. Anna Winters, of Omaha. Several nephews and nieces survive, including John Bruse and Mrs. Hans Wulf, both of Blair; and Mrs. Gifford Nielsen of Fort Calhoun.
