Mrs. Helms Dies at 84-Blairite Dies At Home of Sister, Mrs. Compton; Rites Set For Today
Mrs. Ethel Alice Helms (Warrick), 84, who had been making her home with a sister, Mrs. D. A. Compton, at 506 West Washington St., died early yesterday, July 6, at the Compton home after a lingering illness.
The funeral is to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Bendorf Funeral Home. The Rev. Dudley Carter, Baptist clergyman will officiate and burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.
Mrs. Helms is survived by one son, Edgar Harold Helms of Knob Noster, Mo.; one daughter, Mrs. Eva Williams of Omaha; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL HELD HERE FOR MRS. HELMS, 84
The funeral of Mrs. Alice Helms, 84, an account of whose death appeared in the Pilot-Tribune last Thursday, were held last Thursday at the Bendorf Funeral Home. The Rev. W. Dudley Carter, Baptist clergyman, officiated, and interment was in Blair Cemetery.
Mrs. Helms, as Ethel Warrick, was born at Cuming City Jan. 25, 1870. She and James Edgar Helms were married Jan. 7, 1891. After an absence from this county for many years, they returned to Blair in 1945, where Mr. Helms died Mar. 1, 1951. They resided with Mrs. Maude Compton, sister of Mrs. Helms.
Surviving Mrs. Helms are one son, Harold of Knob Noster, Mo., and one daughter, Mrs. Eva Williams of Omaha; also a sister, Mrs. Maude Compton of Blair; and six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers at the funeral were Everett Lamb, Pete Hagge, Clark Lippincott, Herbert Nelson, Martin Feltheim and Hans Petersen.
