Lincoln, NE. Born to Rev. Immanuel and Elna (Hofgaard) Petersen in Albert Lea, MN on June 18, 1940 and died August 24, 2014. Graduate of Minden High School, Dana College and Wartburg Theological Seminary; Ministries at Syracuse, Lexington, Avoca, Lincoln, Palmyra and Pickrell, NE and Ft. Collins and Sky Ranch Lutheran Camp, Colorado; Married Carol Bruning at Bruning, NE on June 2nd, 1962. Survivors include wife Carol; daughters, Lisa Neeman, Santa Rosa Beach, FL; Kristin Naylor, Lincoln, Heather (Mike) Lomax, Crete, and Holly Creevan, Lincoln; grandchildren, Dustin Andersen, Joshua and Marilyn Naylor, Cody and Conner Lomax, and Jasmine Creevan; brother Rev. Noel (Ruby) Petersen, Omaha; and sisters, Patricia Miller, Oregon, WI and Mary Paul, Bloomington, IL; brothers-in-law, Donald (Pat) Bruning, Bartlesville, OK and Jerry (Nancy) Bruning, Lincoln.

Graveside Service 10am August 29, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Bruning, NE. Celebration of Life at Sheridan Lutheran Church, 70th and Old Cheney Road, Lincoln, 3pm, August 29, 2014. Visitation with family 5-7pm Thursday, Butherus Maser & Love. Memorials in lieu of flowers to family’s choice.
