Former Indian Trader is Dead in California
News has been received of the death of Edgar N. Bradley, 84, one of the first Indian traders at Fort Calhoun. He died at his home in Sacramento, California.
Born in LaPorte, Indiana, in 1854, he came with his parents in 1864 to Fort Calhoun. His father was later named as one of the first Indian agents on the old reservation, and held the position for years. Edgar also became a trader.
After a long residence there, the family moved to Beatrice in 1876, where his father died. In 1879 the younger Bradley move to Blair, thence to Duluth, Minnesota. His wife was once a school teacher here.
