This week we are compelled to give our readers the sad news of the death of one of our oldest settlers, J. W. Johnson, on Thursday evening, July 12, at 8:30 p.m. Mr. Johnson had been ailing for some time and his death was no surprise to his family. He reached the ripe age of 72. He leaves a wife and four children, George Of Omaha, and John, Mrs. Holland (Anna) Eakin and Mrs. Oliver W. (Minnie) Marshall of Washington. The Post extends sympathy to the family in their deep sorrow.-Washington Post.
