Cora McKeen (Parish) Durant
Early Settler Called Tuesday
Mrs. Ed Durant passed away Tuesday at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha following an illness of five weeks duration. She was the victim of heart trouble.
Cora Parrish was born in Wisconsin on July 13, 1871 and when about eight years of age with her parents came to Blair where she had since made her home. Here she grew to womanhood and received her education in the Blair city schools.
In 1888 she was married to William McKeen and to them on son, Roy, was born. The husband passed away in 1922 and the son in 1937.
In 1925 she was married to Ed Durant and they continued to make their home in Blair. Of the family of four children, Mrs. Durant is the second to go, those remaining being Mrs. Ida Freeland of Chicago and Ed of Norfolk. Besides these the husband, Ed Durant and one grandchild, Frances McKeen, and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Roy McKeen survive.
Deceased was a consistent member of the Methodist Church and active in both the Rebekah and the D.A.R. organizations.
Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) afternoon and interment will be made in the Blair Cemetery.
