Longtime Resident Of This County Succumbs: Funeral Held Tuesday

William VanHuss, 82, long a resident of Washington county died Sunday at Blair Hospital. He had lived at the northwest edge of Blair.

The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Campbell Mortuary. Officiating was the Rev. Sidney L. McCaig of First Methodist Church and interment was in Kennard Cemetery.

Native of Washington county, Va., he was born Jan. 3, 1865. His wife, who preceded him in death was Minnie Murray. Surviving Mr. VanHuss is a brother, Sam, in Oklahoma, also a brother-in-law, Daniel Murray of Blair.

WM. A. VAN HUSS RITES TUESDAY Wm. A. VanHuss, 82 years old, died Sunday morning following what was believed to be a heart attack last Friday at his home.

Deceased had lived along for some time, and when he was found it was apparent that he had fallen on a heated stove as he was badly burned about the back ad face.

He was taken immediately to the Blair hospital where he died Sunday morning.

He was born in Washington county, Virginia, and came to this county when a young man.

He was married to Miss Minnie Murray, and for years they farmed. She died several years ago, and the deceased gave up farming. They had no children.

He was a man well respected and was strictly honest.

Funeral services were held from the Campbell Mortuary Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Sidney L. McCaig officiating, and interment was made in the Kennard cemetery.
