Marie L. Hunsche, 92, of David City, formerly of Ulysses, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, at David Place in David City.

Services were Monday, Nov. 20, at Chermok Funeral Home in David City, with the Rev. Wendell Davis officiating. Burial was at Ulysses Township Cemetery.

Mrs. Hunsche was born May 12, 1914, at Garrison to George and Mary (Wilms) Gocken. She graduated from David City High School.

She married Herman Hunsche July 30, 1932. She was a homemaker. She lived in the Ulysses area for over 50 years until moving to David City in 1984.

She was a longtime member of Ladies Aid of the United Methodist Church in Ulysses. She enjoyed her family, flower garden, cooking and baking.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sherrill and Bob Fountaine; grandchildren and spouse, Gayle and Dan Nycz and Charles Patrick Phelps; great-grandchildren, Clayton and Holly Phelps, all of Milwaukee; and step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Sept. 24, 1984; brother, George "Bud" Gocken; and sisters, Anna and Ella.
