SERVICES FOR ROY BUTTERFIELD WERE HELD IN ARLINGTON
Services for a former Fremont resident, Roy W. Butterfield, 64, of Petaluma, California, was held at 11 a.m. Monday at Arlington Community Church. The Rev. Bryce Hecht officiated.
Butterfield died Tuesday at Truckee, California.
He was born February 1, 1911, in Plainview. Butterfield moved to Fremont in 1928 and was employed at Farmers Union Creamery. In 1941 he moved to California where he was manager of Western Dairy Association. After retiring from the Dairy Association, he became a guard at Petaluma, California. He was a member of Petaluma Moose Lodge 475 and a member and past president of Petaluma Bowling Association.
He married Mildred Utterman May 29, 1932 in Fremont.
Survivors include his widow; brothers, Charles, Mountain View, Arkansas, and Earl, Plainview; sisters, Mrs. Mattie Gast, Plainview, Mrs. Bessie Johnson, Osmond, Mrs. Rosa Schultze, Long Beach, California and Mrs. Frances Nelson, Oakland, California.
Pallbearers were: Walter Plugge, Jr., Robert Plugge, Roland Gast, Frederick Schultze, Marlin Schlutze, Gordon Schultze.
Interment was in Kennard Cemetery, Kennard, Nebraska.
Arrangements were by Reckmeyer Funeral Home in Arlington, Nebraska.
