FORMER BLAIR WOMAN PASSES

Word was received this week of the death of Sarah Batty, formerly of this city, which occurred on July 6th at Los Vegas, Nevada. Blair friends will remember the Batty family when they resided on the place now occupied by Mrs. Hans Miller just south of the Rhodes park. After the death of the father and mother, the girls went west, Hannah and Lucy taking homesteads near Hardin, Montana.

Lucy and Hannah were both teachers, Lucy having taught for years in the Blair City Schools, and when they went west they naturally turned to teaching. Lucy became county superintendent of her county and after her term expired, she again turned to teaching and is still following that profession, having held a position at Hardin for a number of years.
