CHAS. M. ESCHER OF ARLINGTON PASSES
Charles M. Escher died here at his home in Arlington on Thursday about noon after an illness which held him practically bedfast for the past three years.
The deceased was born in Saxon Oldenburg, Germany on Oct. 7th, 1863. In April, 1891 he came to America, locating at Nebraska City. From there he went to Wayne, living also at Leshara and Omaha. In 1918 he came to Arlington, and on Aug. 14, 1918 he was married to Miss Ida Loosing. They moved to Fremont where for five years he was employed as a trucker on the C. & N. W. railroad, and later returned to Arlington where he resumed farming. On account of his failing health he left the farm and moved with his wife to town. In 1905 he made a return trip to Germany where he visited several months.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers living in Germany.
Rev. G. W. Wolter of St. Paul's Lutheran church conducted funeral services from the home on Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment was made in the Arlington cemetery.
