Stephen R. Rood, father of E.E. Rood, formerly of this place, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bumgardner, in Fremont last Saturday at the ripe old age of 80 years. The funeral was held at the house at 10:30 Monday morning, Rev. John Grand Schick, of Omaha, officiating. Interment was made in the Arlington cemetery by the side of his wife, who died in 1883, and one child. He was a native of York state and came west in 1882.
