JOHN GALLAGHER DIED SATURDAY
John P. Gallagher, farmer living in the southern part of this county, died of pneumonia in an Omaha hospital last Saturday after an illness of six weeks’ duration.
Deceased is well known in Blair, having resided for a number of years on the Frank Gray farm east of Blair. About three or four years ago he moved to his present home. He was a good farmer, a good neighbor and a good husband and father.
In the vicinity where he lived he is held in the highest respect, and the neighbors and friends have done all they could to assist the family in the trying ordeal. A short time ago a group of them went to the timber and cut enough wood to supply the family through the winter, and in other ways have shown their regards and sympathy.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel; four sons: John of Omaha; George, Vernon and Robert of Irvington; seven daughters, Mrs. Ray Gottsch and Mrs. Clem Wolff of Omaha; Eleanor, Mary Jane, Geraldean, Margaret and Janet, Irvington; a sister, Mrs. Frank Earp, LaMar, Mo.; a brother, Charles Gallagher of Omaha and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Alexander of Omaha, and at 9:30 at the Florence Catholic church.
