Jerry A. Peterson, 74, of Blair, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Services were Monday, Aug. 29, at First Lutheran Church. Interment was at the Blair Cemetery.
Jerry Arthur Peterson was born Sept. 21, 1936, in Kansas City, Mo., to Arthur and Clara (Lamping) Peterson.
He attended school in Omaha, and moved to Blair in 1967, where he owned and operated Schmidt Monument Company.
He had served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War, and was a member of the Blair American Legion, and the Blair Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Tammy, Kurt and Michelle, all of Blair; daughter, Christine Polito of Ralston; six grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Eugene Lane of Mesa, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Colton Peterson.
Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Foundation.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
