ARLINGTON BALL PLAYER IS DEAD
Coming as a shock to baseball fans of Washington county was the news of the death of Clyde Schlapfer of Arlington, in a hospital there at ten o’clock Saturday morning, after being in ill health since last spring. He was 24 years old.
Schlapfer, familiarly known as “Mutt” Schlapfer to local baseball fans, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schlapfer, who live east of Arlington. He was a player on Arlington baseball teams in both the Elkhorn and The Platte Valley leagues in recent years. He had made his home the past summer with Omaha relatives, Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Utterback.
