PIONEER MERCHANT DIED TUESDAY
John F. Jackerott, retired pioneer merchant of Arlington, died on Tuesday morning at 10:30 at Good Samaritan hospital in Fremont from shock suffered from fracturing his right hip. Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at the Congregational church at 2:30 o’clock by Rev. H. C. Van Valkenburgh.
Mr. Jackerott was born in Flensburg, Germany on September 3, 1856, and came to America in 1862, locating in Arlington where he has been the owner of a merchandise store for 48 years; he retired six years ago. For more than forty five years he had lived at the Mrs. J. C. Blackburn home where the accident occurred when he lost his balance and fell while closing a door.
His only surviving relative is one brother, Bernard Jackerott of Omaha. Burial was made in the Arlington cemetery.
