H. RECKMEYER, DIED MONDAY AT ARLINGTON
Early Day Merchant Passes Away at Age of 72 Years
Henry Reckmeyer, early day businessman in Arlington, died at his home Monday morning. He had been in poor health for about 12 years. He was 72 years of age.
Born in Quincy, Illinois March 4, 1867, he came to Arlington with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Reckmeyer, Sr. He and his father bought the hardware and furniture business which was located in what is now the Newell building. Since 1887 he had been connected with the hardware, furniture and undertaking business which bears his name.
Mr. Reckmeyer was married April 19, 1894 to Tillie Whitlock at Farmington, Iowa.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Homer Miller, Arlington; Louella and Margaret, Lincoln; two sisters, Mrs. J. H. Dorbecker and Mrs. John Nibbe and one brother, William A. Reckmeyer.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist church in Arlington.
