JOHN SCHMIDT
John Schmidt, whose funeral was held here November 8th, was born in Omaha June 9th, 1882, and spent most of his life in that city. Mr. Schmidt and his family came to Fort Calhoun five years ago, where he passed away November 5th. He is survived by his wife and two children, William and Ellen, two brothers, Will and Fred of Omaha and a sister, Mrs. M. F. Bucknole of Bennington, Nebraska. He was a carpenter by trade and a member of the Building Trades Council of Omaha. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian church Tuesday, November 8th with Rev. R. Donaldson officiating.

John W. Schmidt
This community was shocked by the news shortly before noon Saturday, of the sudden death of John W. Schmidt, who was found near death in the hayloft of the barn at his home, and who passed away shortly thereafter.
Mr. Schmidt was born in Omaha June 9, 1882, and spent most of his life in that city. Among his schoolmates in Omaha were former Mayor Towle and H. B. Bergquist, member of the board of education. He was a carpenter by profession and a member of the Building Trades Council of Omaha.
Five years ago he and his family moved to Ft Calhoun, where they purchased and occupied the residence just west of the park. Mr. Schmidt was an expert carpenter, a tireless worker. thoroughly honest and conscientious. He is survived by his wife and two children, William and Ellen; two brothers, Will and Fred of Omaha, and a sister, Mrs. M. F. Buck ole of Bennington.
The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Presbyterian church with Rev. R. Donaldson officiating. Burial was in the Ft. Calhoun cemetery
