Mrs. Guy L. Glover was called to Benson on Saturday by the illness of her father, Thomas Blackett, age 86, who died on Sunday at his farm home. Mrs. Blackett had been ill with an attack of the flu for six weeks, and died from a sudden heart attack. He was born in Detroit, and 15 years before moving to Benson he farmed at Fort Scott, Kansas. He and his wife would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary had he lived until June 17th. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Kremer mortuary, with burial in the Mt. Hope cemetery. Attending the services from here were Mr. and Mrs. Guy L. Glover and daughter, Mrs. Clifford Decker, and Mrs. Alvin Anderson and Miss Lucy Lawson who sang at the services. He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Ada Karlskint, Fort Scott, Kansas; Mrs. Arthur Mass, Omaha; Mrs. Guy L. Glover, Arlington; and Mrs. Vesta Jones, San Diego, California; four sons, Edgar and Wilmer of Omaha; Walter, Pasadena, California; and Alfred, Denver, Colorado; one sister, Mrs. T. L. Herbert, Fort Scott, Kansas; and one brother, Walter of Detroit, Mich.
