Kassebaum Rites Held
Funeral services were held Sunday for 87-year-old Casper Henry Kassebaum, former Arlington resident who died last Wednesday at the West Point hospital.
Funeral rites were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Kassebaum had moved from Arlington to West Point in 1950.
He was born, son of Casper Henry and Catherine Langmeier Kassebaum, at Roedinghausen, Westphalia, Germany, Sept. 11, 1868. In 1887, at the age of 19, he came to America.
He and Miss Louisa Stork were married Feb. 25, 1897, and to them were born 10 children. His wife and two children preceded him in death.
Surviving him are five sons, Herman of Colter, Ia., Edgar of Sioux City, Ia., Clarence of Arlington, Oscar of Algona, Ia., and George of West Point; and three daughters, Mrs. H. D. Allison of Los Angeles, Miss Freida of West Point and Mrs. Lloyd Cox (Lena) of Jordan, Mont. There are 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; also a brother, William, who lives in Omaha.
