PIONEER JURIST PASSES AWAY
District Judge Lee S. Estelle died at his home in Omaha, 4163 Cass street, last Sunday, Oct. 10, after an illness of seven weeks.
He leaves a widow and four children, two sons and two daughters.
Judge Estelle was a pioneer Nebraska jurist, coming to Nebraska in 1872.
In 1882 Judge Estelle came to Blair and engaged in the practice of law in the firm known as Osborne, Estelle & Farnsworth, and in 1884 was elected district attorney. As a criminal lawyer he gained an enviable reputation. He has served his fifth term as district judge, and his friends feel confident that he would have been reelected to a sixth term this fall.
Funeral services were held in Omaha on last Tuesday.
Judge Estelle has many friends in Blair and Washington county who regret to learn of his death and who extend sympathy to his family. He was a man of high ideals, a loyal friend and a fair and impartial jurist and citizen.
