MINNIE NEALE RITES TUESDAY
Miss Minnie Neale, a former early settler of this county, died in Omaha last Saturday following a short illness.
Miss Neale was born in Rockport, Nebraska in the southeastern part of this country of pioneer parents. Her parents passed away when she was but a child and she made her home with uncles and aunts here and in Kansas. When still quite young she was sent to Brooklyn where she received her education.
After maturity she returned to Fort Calhoun where she proved a valuable aid to society. She was active in the church of which for fifteen years she served as treasurer. She assisted in the organization of the Fort Calhoun Cemetery Association and the founding of a town library She was also a charter member of the women’s Club.
She leaves to mourn her a number of cousins, George, Grace, Bertha and Edith Neale of Calhoun and Miss Bertha Burkett of Omaha.
Funeral services were held in the Calhoun church on Tuesday afternoon, and the body was taken to the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha where it was cremated.
