RITES HELD FOR MRS. H. HANSEN AT ARLINGTON
Funeral services for Mrs. Hans Hansen, 85, who died at her home in Arlington Saturday, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Fred Bader Funeral home in Fremont.
Dr. E. Merle Adams, assisted by Rev. H. C. Valkenburg of Arlington, officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery in Fremont.
Mrs. Hansen was born Aug. 19, 1863 in Fyn, Denmark. Her husband also was born in Fyn. Both came to the United States in the same party of friends, arriving in Philadelphia Oct. 25, 1882. They went from there for Chester, Pa. The following spring Hansen came to Fremont.
Karen Karoline Madsen, whom later married, remained in Chester until July, 1884 when she too came to Fremont. They were married the following spring.
With the exception of one year in Saunders county, Mr. and Mrs. Hansen lived in Dodge County from 1885 - 1904 when they moved to Arlington where they have lived since then. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in March of 1935. They were farmers.
Mrs. Hansen attended school in Denmark. She was a member of the Congregational church and had been a member of the Royal Neighbors of Fremont for 50 years.
Survivors, besides her widower, include four daughters, Mrs. E. G. Philips, Fremont; Mrs. L. W. Weigand, Fremont; Mrs. Fern J. Porter, Lincoln; and Agnes Hansen, Arlington; a son, Julius R. Hansen, Lincoln; two sisters in Denmark; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
