PETER JANSEN RITES THURSDAY

Funeral rites for Peter Jansen, 55, of Kennard were held in Kennard Methodist Church last Thursday afternoon, and burial was made in the Fort Calhoun cemetery. Jansen died September 16 as the result of a lingering illness.

Surviving are Mrs. Jansen, Kennard postmistress; three daughters, Mrs. Russell Christensen of Florence, Naomi and Jessie of Kennard; and a son, Peter, Jr. of Kennard.

PETER JANSEN TO BE BURIED TODAY

HUSBAND OF KENNARD POSTMISTRESS DIED MONDAY AT AGE 55

Peter Jansen, 55, of Kennard, former Fort Calhoun and Blair farmer, died Monday night at Kennard. He was the husband of the Kennard postmistress, and his daughter, Naomi, also is employed at the Kennard post office.

Funeral services are being held this afternoon at Kennard, burial following at Fort Calhoun.

Mr. Jansen was born August 6, 1885, west of Fort Calhoun, and farmed in that vicinity and the Maney neighborhood until moving to Kennard about three year ago. His wife is the former Miss Irene Vaughan, daughter of J.D. Vaughan of Fort Calhoun.

Surviving him are his wife, Irene; two daughters, Naomi of Kennard and Mrs. Russell Christensen of Fort Calhoun; and a son, Peter Jr.
