MRS. JENS JENSEN, 80, BURIED SUNDAY
Mrs. Jens J. Jensen, resident of Blair and Washington county since the turn of the century, passed away last Friday at the age of 80. Her death came as the result of a lingering four month illness.
Christened Anna Kemose, she was born in Engesvang, Denmark on March 27, 1860. On March 1, 1888 she was married to Jens J. Jensen, and they came to Blair about forty years ago. Ten children were born to their union, nine of whom survive. They are Jens W. Jensen, Pierce City, Missouri; Mrs. Petrea Gillen, San Diego, California; Mrs. Marie Alquist and Mrs. Margaret Rushing, Omaha; Mrs. Dena Knudsen, Page, Nebraska; Mrs. Dorothy Larsen, Springfield, Ohio; Chris Jensen, Eagle Butte, South Dakota; Andrew Jensen, Royal, Nebraska; Mrs. Katherine Painter, Milboro, South Dakota. Thirty grandchildren also survive besides the husband.
Funeral services were held at First Lutheran church Sunday afternoon, May 5, at 3 o’clock with Rev. Harold C. Jorgensen officiating, and burial was in the Blair cemetery. Mrs. Paul Nyholm and Mrs. A. M. Pedersen furnished music during the services.
