#1 January 16, 1947 - The Enterprise - Emma Regina (George) Rosenbaum

MRS. J. C. ROSENBAUM DIED JANUARY 9th

Mrs. J. C. Rosenbaum passed away during the night of January 8th and was found dead in her bed the following morning. As Emma Regina George she was born at Marion, Virginia on August 24, 1872. At the age of sixteen years she came to Nebraska where she made her home with her aunt, Mrs. Joseph Rosenbaum.

On January 15, 1890 the was married to Jefferson C. Rosenbaum. Five children were born to them. For years the family lived on a farm home south of Blair. In later years the family moved to Blair where Mr. Rosenbaum died on February 10, 1938.

Deceased was a member of the Methodist church, of the Royal Neighbor Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary. In all of these she was in high standing.

She was a wonderful mother, a good friend and neighbor and her sudden death came as a great shock. The survivors of the immediate family are three sons, Erwal and Eugene of Arlington, Lloyd of Omaha and two daughters, Mrs. Wm. Misfeldt and Mrs. R. H. Thompson of Winside, Nebraska. One sister, Mrs. M. Caldwell of Phoenix, Arizona and two brothers, Wylie George of Omaha and Winfield George of Marion, Virginia and several grandchildren survive.

Funeral services were held last Saturday from the Methodist church, and burial was made in the Blair cemetery.

#2 Blair Woman Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Emma Rosenbaum, Widow of Jeff Rosenbaum, Succumbs Today

Mrs. Emma Rosen Baum, 74, well-known resident of Blair and vicinity more than half a century, died suddenly this morning at the Mrs. Mary Ingerslev residence, where she made her home. She was the victim of a heart attack.

Mrs. Rosenbaum was the widow of Jeff C. Rosenbaum. The body was taken to the Bendorf Funeral Home.

The Blair woman, then Emma George, came here from Virginia when 16 to visit relatives, and remained here upon her marriage. Surviving are three sons, Lloyd of Omaha, Eugene and Erwal of Arlington; two daughters, Mrs. Will Misfeldt (Maude) and Mrs. R.H. Thompson (Jo), both of Winside; a brother, Wiley George of Omaha, and several sisters, one being Mrs. M. Caldwell of Phoenix, Arizona and the others residing in Virginia.
