4 June, 1908 - The Blair Democrat - “Little son of Judge Stlits”
On Thursday last a little son of Judge Stlits of Fort Calhoun was shot and killed by the accidental discharge of a gun loaded with duck and buck shot. The charge went through his foot, passed upward and lodged in his temple, causing death in ten hours. He was in a loft and had evidently secured the gun, passing it down to the floor beneath him when the hammer caught, discharging the piece as with the results stated. This is a sad blow to the family and cast a gloom over the entire community.
