RITES FOR 100 YEAR OLD LADY SATURDAY

Would Have Been 101 Years Of Age on March 30

Mrs. Claus Hagedorn, who would have celebrated her 101st birthday next Wednesday, March 30th, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Johnson Wednesday, March 23.

Mrs. Hagedorn, as Inga Marie Svendsen, was born in Sweden March 30, 1948. At the age of 18 she moved to Denmark where on November 20, 1871 she was married to Claus Hagedorn. To them thirteen children were born, seven of whom are still living.

In 1897 they came to America, settling at Royal, Iowa where they took up farming. Here they resided until 1936 when Mr. Hagedorn passed away at the age of 90 years.

After the death of her husband in 1936, she made her home with a daughter in Royal, Iowa, but for the past seven years she has made her home with another daughter, Mrs. Wm Johnson of this city, who cared for her with the most loving kindness.

The children living are Chris of Ashland; Jim at Royal, Iowa; Mrs. Wm. Johnson of Blair; Mrs. H. M. Hansen of California; Mrs. San LeGore of California; Mrs. Albert Madsen of Royal, Iowa; and Mrs. George Sagget of Sioux City, Iowa.

Along with her record of longevity and being the mother of thirteen children, she is the grandmother of 53 children, the great grandmother of 76 and the great great grandmother of 29 children.

Funeral services will be held at the First Lutheran Church in Blair Saturday, March 26, at 2:00 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Harold Jorgensen. Burial will be at Royal, Iowa. The Bendorf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
