1979 Blair High graduate

After a four and a half year battle with cancer, Carole Jane Stehno, 51, of Omaha, died peacefully Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at her home with her family near her. A memorial service was held Monday, Oct. 10, at Glad Tidings in Omaha.

Carole Jane Smith was born Sept. 9, 1960. She grew up in Blair, graduating from Blair High School in 1979, where she was active in sports and other activities.

She is survived by her husband, Joe, and children, Sarah, Paul, Christine and Mark, all of Omaha; parents, Wayne "Smitty" and Jane Smith of Blair; brothers, Robert and David, both of Blair and Michael of Yutan; and numerous other relatives.
