Wm. Byrd, 79, is Heart Victim
Was Stricken Suddenly While Working Tuesday.
William W. Byrd, a resident of Blair for the past ten years, died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday afternoon, April 24th.
He was engaged in a job of carpentry in an apartment over the Harris Shoe store when he succumbed. He was found slumped on the floor.
William W. Byrd was born January 23, 1877 at Lima, Ohio and spent much of his early manhood in the east.
On November 22, 1934 he was married to Ethel Mead, of Blair. They came to this community to make their home about ten years ago.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Dixon, of Safford, Arizona and Mrs. Margart Hefner, of Long Beach, California. There are also several nieces and nephews. His wife preceded him in death.
Funeral services are being held at the Campbell Mortuary Friday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. J. D. Johnson conducting the service. Burial under the direction of the mortuary will be made at the Blair cemetery.
