5 July, 1905 - The Pilot - 12 or 13 Year Old Son of H. J. Staben
This morning as H. J. Staben, on the old Pat McCarty farm near Coffman was getting his horses out of the stable, one got away with the harness on, and his little boy twelve or thirteen years old being swifter on foot than his father gave chase. When the father found the horse the boy was missing. He had tried to mount the horse and got his foot caught in the harness and was dead. He was an 8th grade graduate in the Coffman school this spring and said to be bright and have the friendship of those who knew him, and the parents have the sympathy of everyone who knew them.
