25 May, 1910 - The Pilot - John Ruwe
John Ruwe, son of August Ruwe, who, after a short illness of typhoid, died last week and was buried Sunday, the interment taking place at the Fontanelle cemetery near the Lutheran church. Rev. Gronehorst preached an eloquent funeral sermon, and the church choir sang several songs. The acting pallbearers were: W. H. Weitkamp, Aug. Hartung, Edward Shafersman, William Niebaum, John Niebaum and William Wilkening. Mr. Ruwe was 34 years of age, therefore in the prime of life. He was a quiet and industrious young man and was surrounded by comfortable circumstances. He is survived by his wife and three children who deeply feel the loss of a kind husband and a loving father. The community extends to the bereaved family their heartfelt sympathy.
