John Lars Petersen Died Here Monday
John Lars Petersen, 74, passed away at his home at 843 North 16th Street in Blair Monday June 21st after
a lengthy illness.
He was born at Fredricksburg, Denmark on January 25, 1891. On February 25, 1914, he was united in
marriage to Gladys Luse. They farmed in Washington County until retiring to Blair in 1961.
Survivors besides his wife Gladys are his daughter, Mrs. Robert Siert (Dorothy), two granddaughters,
Mrs. Robert Madsen and Miss Barbara Siert. Also two sisters, Miss Hannah Petersen and Mrs. Fred H.
Jensen (Petrea) all of Blair and a brother, Chris Petersen of Logan, Iowa. A son Jack, passed away April
14, 1965.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the First Methodist Church in Blair with the Rev. Dale Westadt
conducting the service. Burial under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary, was made in the Blair
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Fred Long (the rest of the newspaper clipping is missing)
