Monday, May 3, 1897 - The Pilot - Chris Hintz
This afternoon the Ft. Calhoun Washington county, Nebraska, Congregational church was crowded at the funeral of Chris Hintz. The services were conducted by Rev. Parker, of Ft. Calhoun, Rev. Mehl, of Omaha, and by the Woodmen of the World in their beautiful ritual. We could not go to the cemetery. With Mr. Hintz we had only a speaking acquaintance but remember him as perhaps the quietest man of our acquaintance, who could not help but make friends anywhere by his general appearance. And we are glad to note that his death was the death of a pure Christian, looking forward to the full hope of the resurrection of the just. People were in attendance from all parts of the county.
