BLAIR WOMAN, 32, DIES IN DAKOTA
MISS MARTHA RASMUSSEN, NATIVE OF SPIKER, BURIED AT ORUM SUNDAY
An invalid for 12 years, Miss Martha Rasmussen, 32 died last Thursday night at Canastota, South Dakota, where she had resided the past four years.
Native of Washington County, she was born near Spiker February 7, 1905, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Rasmussen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Danish Lutheran church at Orum.
Her father, one sister, Caroline, and one brother, Neils, preceded her in death. Surviving Miss Rasmussen are her mother, Mrs. Petrina Rasmussen of Spiker; four sisters, Mrs. Mathilda Linderman of Blair, Mrs. Julia Timm of Arlington, Mrs. Mary Knudsen and Mrs. Elsie Knudsen both of Herman; and five brothers, Alfred of Blair, James of Tekamah, Henry, Louis and Robert of Herman.
The body was brought from South Dakota to Blair, and funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Bendorf Funeral Home, the Rev. James N. Lund of First Lutheran Church in charge of rites. Burial was in Orum cemetery.
