Alice "Doris" Gutschow, 87, of Blair died Monday, March 5, 2001, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 8, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Private graveside services will be held prior to memorial services at the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin 9 a.m., Wednesday, March 7.
Alice Doris (Beck) Gutschow was born April 2, 1913, in Blair to Andrew and Julina (Ahlen) Beck. She was baptized June 1, 1913, and confirmed on May 16, 1926, at the Danish Lutheran Church in Blair. She graduated from Blair High School in 1931.
She married Wilfred E. "Bill" Gutschow on Jan. 3, 1939, in Papillion. They moved to Scribner in 1943 and were in the dairy and hog farming operation for 37 years. In 1980, the couple moved to Blair.
Mrs. Gutschow is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Nancy Gutschow of Blair, Wilfred "Bill" and Nancy Gutschow of South Sioux City, Jerry and Laraine Gutschow of Blair, Sue Gutschow of Sicklerville, N.J., eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Pearl Ludwick of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, James, and four brothers, Lloyd, Raymond, Andy and Ralph Beck.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Friends of the Library or Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
