Alice “June” Thompson Johnson Jenson, age 87 of Blair, passed away May 26, 2024, at Carter Place in Blair.
Funeral services will be held Thursday May 30, 2024, at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Graveside services will follow in the Blair Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday May 29, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.
June was born June 22, 1936, in Spalding, Neb., the daughter of Leonard and Blanche Thompson. After her high school graduation, she began teaching in a one room schoolhouse near Spalding. She later attended the University of Nebraska where she earned her master’s degree in counseling. June worked for over 35 years at Blair Community Schools. On March 4, 1956, she was united in marriage to Clark Jenson. June was an active long-time quilter, in 1995 she was a founding member of the Sunbonnet Sues quilting group, she was also a member of the Cottonwood Quilt Guild and the Nebraska State Quilt Guild. June loved gardening and raising flowers and was a lifelong Husker fan.
June is survived by her husband Clark, children; son Dean Jenson and Sue Coulter, daughter Janet (Nick) Saeger, grandchildren; Drew Jenson, Katrina (Nate) Conrad, Emily (Ryan) Zuch, Anna Saeger, Elizabeth (Trevor) Hermann, eight great-grandchildren, her brother Louie (Joyce) Johnson, sister Lola Mueller, sister Patty (Verlyn) Carlson, along with extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
