Ronald (Ron, Ronnie) Willard Hoffman, age 79, passed away June 3, 2024 in Omaha, Nebraska. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mail correspondence may be sent to the Hoffman’s at PO Box 195 Herman, NE 68029.

Ronald Willard Hoffman was born November 15, 1944 in Omaha, Nebraska. He lived and thrived most of his adult life in Herman, Nebraska. His parents were Robert W. and Dorohty (Van Kaat) Hoffman. Ron was raised in the Catholic faith and attended Omaha South High School. He was a United States Army veteran and proudly served in the Vietnam War. Ron married Linda K. (Knudsen) on March 22, 1969 in Papillion, Nebraska. As a young man, Ron was a Golden Gloves boxer. He enjoyed Linda’s homemade chicken noodle and dumpling soup along with many sweet treats, especially ice cream. He was a skilled wood worker, building birdhouses and toys as well as his own reclaimed wood shop, he disassembled and rebuilt with his own hands. He enjoyed fishing, going to the casino and working on his 1939 Ford. Ron retired from Hawkins Construction in 2009, after 20 years of service. In his spare time, he was a volunteer with the Herman Fire Department and Rescue for more than 20 years and served on the Herman Board of Trustees service for a time as the Chairman of the Board.

Ron is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Hoffman of Herman; children: Deane (Sheryl) Hoffman of Fremont, Mike Pribyl of Missouri, Donie Lynn Hoffman (Marc Smith) of Kansas City, Ron (Shannon) Hoffman of Fremont; grandchildren: Marshal Hoffman, Rusty Hoffman, Jeff Hoffman and Jessica Hoffman; very special great grandson Aiden Hoffman; siblings: Dana (Jeanne) Hamik of South Carolina, Frieda Joyce of Texas, Ann Marie (Bill) Allen of Omaha, Debbie (Jim) Dwornicki of Omaha and Lorrie Greve of Omaha; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Fred Hamik, brother Robert “Bobby” Hoffman and grandson Sonny Hoffman. The family is very thankful for Ron and Linda’s neighbor’s Kim Johnson and Tracy Belgard for all of their friendship and support over the years.
