Meta was born Feb. 23, 1932, in Midland, Mich., the daughter of Howard and Lucille Morris. She was raised in Michigan and after graduating from high school, she attended The Saint Louis Institute of Music. In 1966 she moved to Blair and earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Dana College. Over the years, she was employed at The Omaha Home for Boys, Nebraska Iowa Supply, as well as Dana College for 18 years as an Admissions Counselor and the Weekend College Coordinator. Meta was very active at First Lutheran Church in Blair as a confirmation class teacher, a congregational council member, and a member of the church choir. She was also involved in the Blair community as a pre-school board member, part of the Dana Women’s Club, and as chairman representative of the fine arts at Blair middle school.

One of Meta’s favorite activities was joining her friends for their monthly birthday club luncheons. She was also an avid reader and bird lover. Her greatest joy in life was always her grandchildren, and she’ll be remembered as a gentle and caring grandmother. In Meta’s own words, she was always in a room filled with love and blessings.

She is survived by her daughters: Liza Brandes, Mary Murren, Susan Martin, and Maria (Tony) Perk; her grandchildren: Matthew Brandes, Lauren (Gage) Carlson, Drew (Becca) Schneider, Christian (Ciara) Schneider, Caleb (Alexis) Schneider, Nicholas Paulsen, Rachel (Zach) Forrest, and Alexis Paulsen; her great-grandchildren: Luke, Leo, Charlotte, and Ellis Carlson, Vin and Titus Schneider, and Rylee Forrest; her brother Ken (Sig) Morris, sister-in-law Carol Morris, along with extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Clair (Lola) Morris and Larry Morris; dear family friend James King, and grandson Aaron Schneider.
