Linda Kaye (Knudsen) Hoffman of Herman, Nebraska, (wife of Ron Hoffman, who passed away June 3, 2024) died in her home on July 7, 2024, at the age of 79. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024, for Linda and Ronald Hoffman at the Herman Cemetery at 2 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at the Herman American Legion, Jackson Peck Post 274.

Linda was born on Dec. 28, 1944, in Omaha, Neb., to LaVerne and Ethel (Snow) Knudsen. She attended Omaha North High School and married Ronald W. Hoffman on March 22, 1969. She was a lifelong resident of Herman, Nebraska.

Linda enjoyed crafting, Christmas, bird watching (especially with the help of her many birdhouses), bingo, Elbis, Tom Cruise, her three cats — Olive, Molly and Toodles — and her many children, grandchildren and great-grandson, Aiden. Linda will be remembered for her quick wit, her great salsa, all the jellies and jams she canned and the best chicken noodle and dumplings. Linda was of Christian faith.

She was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension in 2007 but was a fighter who out-lived her initial prognosis by more than 15 years! However, in 2023 she was diagnosed with Stage 2 lung cancer and then, in 2024, Stage 4 lung cancer. Linda fought these battles with positivity and upbeat determination. She had a positive attitude all the way to the end… Fighting!

Linda is survived by her children: Deane (Sheryl) Hoffman of Fremont, Donie Lynn Hoffman (Marc Smith) of Kansas City, Ron Hoffman (Shannon Rockford) of Fremont; grandchildren: Marshal Hoffman, Rusty Hoffman, Jeff Hoffman, Jessica Hoffman; and great grandson Aiden Hoffman.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald (Ron) Hoffman, grandson Sonny Hoffman, her parents, stepfather Simon Kosmicki, sister Vernell (Ralph) Devney and brother Lawrence Knudsen.

The family would like to thank Ron and Linda’s neighbors, Kim Johnson and Tracy Belgarde, for all the love, support and great friendship they’ve shared.
