Survived by wife, Ashley Nelson, San Diego; father, Rick Nelson, Blair, NE; stepmother, Becky Nelson, Blair; mother, Carmela Coleman-Audet, Fort Calhoun, NE; stepfather, Mark Audet; grandparents, Allen and Sharon Nelson, Fort Calhoun, Nancy Coleman, Newport, RI; brother, Shea Nelson, Fort Calhoun; half-sister, Michaela Curlee, SD; stepsister, Samantha (Kyle) Hadfield, GA; stepbrother, Dallas (Tina) Masterson, Omaha; aunt, Chris Nelson, Fort Calhoun; uncle, AEC(ret) Thomas M. (Earleen) Coleman III; nieces, Marceline and Lyra Nelson, Bellevue, NE; as well as many cousins, close friends, and shipmates around the world.

VISITATION: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2024 at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024, also at the church.

INURNMENT: Private Family Only at a later date.

MEMORIALS SUGGESTED TO: Blair Humane Society or Fort Calhoun American Legion Post #348. A scholarship fund is being set up in Kiefer's name at the Fort Calhoun High School, P.O. Box 430, Fort Calhoun, NE 68023.
