Joy (Little) Saunders

October 2, 1939 - August 1, 2024

Joy was born in Marysville, California, on October 2, 1939, and passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Joy is survived by her daughter, Lori (Steve) Halsey of Blair, Neb.; son, Bob (Kelly) Saunders of Council Bluffs, Iowa; grandchildren, Kelley (Ashley) Halsey of Blair, Neb., Matthew (Keelee) Saunders, Lynn (Derek) Stover all of Omaha, Neb.; and her greatest joy, her seven great grandchildren — Ryker, Pyper and Dylan of Blair, Neb.; and Brynlee, Averee, Aubree and Bailee of Omaha, Ne.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ellen Russell; father, John Little; brother, Bill Russell; granddaughter, Brenda Halsey.

Joy enjoyed going many places with Ryker and Pyper, playing Bingo and getting her hair done. In her younger years she bowled in several leagues and loved the Casinos and horse races. She was very lucky at both! She did taxes for numerous people and considered them friends.

Joy will be cremated and has requested no services. The family will have a private burial at a future date.
