Grady Chastain

September 4, 2007 - August 21, 2024

Grady Jensen Chastain came into the world on September 4, 2007, and passed away on August 21, 2024, in Children's Hospital Omaha. Grady was diagnosed with the rare disease Lymphangiomatosis when he was 4 years old. Grady attended the Blair School District up until 2020 when the disease progression no longer made him able to attend school in person. He wanted nothing more than to be able to return to school in person, particularly when he entered high school.

Grady loved building Legos, playing with his cat, driving his grandparent's golf cart, and most of all, online gaming with his friends. He wanted to one day work for NASA and visit space himself.

Grady knew his disease was incurable and made the brave decision that he wanted to donate his body to science to help in any way he could to find a cure. His specialists at Children's Hospital of Cincinnati and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia are doing just that to see if they can find the root cause of the disease in order to find a way to treat it.

Parents, Sean and Michelle, and sister Mackenzie request in lieu of gifts that people consider making a donation to the Lymphangiomatosis and Gorham's Disease Alliance at www.lgdalliance.com. The family will have a Celebration of Life for Grady on September 14th at their home, the place Grady always most wanted to be but was so often unable to.
