Clark was born in Newman Grove, NE, on April 23, 1935, in his parents’ farmhouse. He attended elementary and high school in Newman Grove before attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He received his bachelor’s degree and ultimately his master’s degree in Adult Education. Clark married Alice June Thompson on March 4th, 1956. Throughout the years, Clark wore many hats and worked in many fields. Clark eventually was hired by the University of Nebraska to work with truck gardeners to improve their sales and public relations. Truck gardeners sold their produce primarily in the Old Market in downtown Omaha.

In 1960 Clark became a Douglas County Extension Agent, which made him the first extension agent in the state. In 1964 he began planting trees on his farm which later led to owning a couple commercial gardening centers and a landscaping company. Clark was most proud of his horses. His journey started as a young boy and continued throughout his lifetime. He began his Heavy Draft Horse journey with 2 Belgian Horses named Duke and Dan. They were used on the Christmas Tree Farms to pull families through the fields as they selected their Christmas Trees. He then discovered his love of Shire Draft Horses. Clark and June took countless trips throughout the country looking at horses and discovering new great deals. They also went to England several times in search of Shires. He, along with his son and daughter in law, have built up their herds and reputation in the Shire Draft Horse Community. Jenson Shires is now the largest breeder of Shire Draft Horses in North America.

Clark is survived by his children; son Dean Jenson and Sue Coulter, daughter Janet (Nick) Saeger, grandchildren; Drew Jenson, Katrina (Nate) Conrad, Emily (Ryan) Zuch, Anna Saeger, Elizabeth (Trevor) Hermann, 9 great grandchildren, his sister Doris, his brother-in-law Louie (Joyce) Johnson, sister-in-law Lola Mueller, sister-in-law Patty (Verlyn) Carlson, along with extended family and friends.
