Norman Rex Rollins, age 92, passed away on July 13, 2024. He was born in Oakland, IA, to F. Ivan and Marion Rollins on December 28, 1931. He attended Oakland Iowa High School, Northwest Missouri State, and UNO. He joined the Omaha Police Department in 1959 and after an active career in law enforcement joined the Nebraska State Parole as a Senior Parole Officer in 1978 where he transported state prisoners throughout the United States. He retired in 1996.
Norm was an avid reader and loved his retirement on his acreage in Fort Calhoun, NE. He was an outdoor person who loved horses, dogs, and animals of which he had many. He was a sportsman, hunter, and active in all shooting sports along with his wife, Cindy. His love of the outdoors was shared with his wife, Cindy, camping and traveling throughout the United States.
He was preceded in death by parents, F. Ivan and Marion Rollins; brothers, Wylie and Wendell; great-granddaughter, Maeghan Marie-Michele Coppock.
Survived by loving wife, Cindy of 40 wonderful years of marriage; children, Jan Ellen Rollins, Jon Scott Rollins, Lynne Elizabeth Winkle, and Stacy Elaine Rollins; eight grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue.
VISITATION Wednesday, July 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. SERVICES Thursday, July 18 starting at 1 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. INTERMENT at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Omaha.
