Nelda Lou (Novak) Carlson

November 14, 1933 - October 2, 2024

Nelda was born November 14, 1933 in Pender, NE to Jacob and June (Eaton) Novak.

Nelda grew up at Walthill, NE and graduated from Walthill High School in 1952.

She married Gerald R. Carlson January 9, 1953 in Fremont, Nebraska. To this marriage were 4 children, Stan, Carolee, Janet and Joyce. Her life was busy raising family and taking care of the many duties that come with farm life. Nelda was a strong woman of faith and was active in her church. She was known by her family and friends to smile and say, "You know I love you and Jesus loves us more". Nelda loved fishing and watching the birds that came to her many bird feeders.

Nelda Lou Carlson, age 90 of Fremont, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Providence Place in Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; daughter, Joyce Jones; 2 brothers, Dale and Bob and 2 sisters, Marilyn and Naomi.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Stan (Janine) Carlson of Arlington, NE; daughters, Carolee (Randy) Bundy of Nashville, TN and Janet (Dusty) Green of Linden, TX; son-in-law, Chester Jones; sister, Charlene Karnes of Nevada, MO; brother-in-law, Leo Bowland;, sister-in-law, Donna Gagaliani ; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral will be 10:00 AM Friday, October 11, 2024 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Pastor Jason Duley of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington will officiate. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Thursday also at Moser's. Interment will be 1:00 PM Friday at the Oakland Cemetery, Oakland, NE.

Memorials are suggested to Providences Place, Fremont or Samaritan's Purse.
