James R. Andreasen, age 97, passed away October 1, 2024, at Carter Place in Blair. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, at 7 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside service will be held Saturday, October 5, at 10:30 a.m. at the Kennard Cemetery.
James Andreasen was born November 14, 1926, on a farm near Kennard, Nebraska, to Fritz and Della (Kempcke) Andreasen. Jim graduated from Kennard High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952, when he was honorably discharged.
Upon returning home, he met his future wife, Erma Rasmussen, at a dance in Arlington, Nebraska. The couple was married September 10, 1953. Jim and Erma farmed outside of Kennard, raising four children, cattle, hogs and chickens. They enjoyed bowling in leagues and attending dances for many years. Jim enjoyed music and was a wonderful singer; later in life he enjoyed drives in the country to check crops.
Jim is survived by his children: Denise Andreasen, Richard (Denise) Andreasen, Sheila McIntyre; grandchildren: Kristin (Jesse) Collins and Bryce Andreasen; great-grandchildren Emilia and Weston Collins.
He was preceded in death by his wife Erma; daughter Brenda; son-in-law Mark McIntyre; siblings: Bob, Harry, Howard and Glenn Andreasen, Arlene Peterson, Elaine Gosker and Velma Sauers.
